Periyar National Park: is one of the most famous shrines of the India. It is also known as the Thekkady wild life reserve. This park consists of a Lake made by man, which is an important source of drinking water for the animals. Tourists can also take tours boat to roam around the Lake and see the animals in their natural habitat. Elephants are a major attraction of this place. With them you can also see sambar, bison, Tigers and Malabar flying squirrels etc.. It is the best time to visit this place between October and June.
Kumarkom Bird Sanctuary: it lies on the shores of Lake Vembanand and is very popular for migratory Siberian cranes. You can see a wide variety of birds that come from different parts of the India. Birds such as Waterfowl, Heron, Heron, cuckoo, larks and wood beetle are the main attraction of this temple. The time to visit this place is between June and August, while one can see migratory birds between November February.
Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary: is located in the District of Idduki along the Western Ghats only 17 km from Munnar. This reserve was established for the conservation of the endangered Nilgiri Thar. This park offers a fascinating view of nature along with rare flora and fauna in their natural room. It is also to home to Atlas Moth, elephants, Sambhars, Gaurs, Lion tailed Macaque, Nilgiri Langur, Tigers and leopards.
Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary: is located in the southeastern part of the Kannur district and is North of Kerala most wildlife reserve. Tourists can enjoy a wild safari in the quiet atmosphere of the sanctuary. He is known for different types of squirrels. One can also detect leopards, jungle cats, herds of deer, elephants and Buffalo. The best time to visit this reserve is between October and June.
